What Our Petaluma INSIGHT Scans Actually Measure, and Why We Always Scan Again

Most parents who walk into our Petaluma office have already been told to wait and see. They have a folder of notes, a couple of appointments behind them, and a kid who still is not sleeping, or settling, or sitting still. What they have almost never been given is a picture of what their child’s nervous system is actually doing.

That is the part we can show you.

Your child’s nervous system has one job. It takes in information about what is happening inside and around the body, and it coordinates every cell’s response. When the information coming in gets distorted, the response going out is not a malfunction. It is the normal answer to abnormal input. We do not chase the response. We look at the input.

Here is the problem with input. You cannot see it. A parent cannot look at her three-year-old and tell whether his system is calm or running hot. Neither can we, by looking. So we measure it. We don’t guess. We test, adjust, and retest.

The three INSIGHT scans, in plain language

They take a few minutes, they do not hurt, and nothing is injected, radiated, or forced. Your child sits still and a small sensor glides down the spine.

neuroCORE reads the electrical activity along the spine. Every nerve carries a small electrical signal. This scan records how much energy the system is firing off, and whether it is firing evenly on both sides. When those readings run high and uneven, the system is stuck switched on, pouring energy into staying tense and alert. That is energy a growing child needs for other things: growing, sleeping, learning, being pleasant to live with at 5pm.

neuroTHERMAL reads the heat pattern down the spine. Along your spine run the automatic nerves, the ones you never think about, quietly running digestion, immune function, and blood flow. Those nerves control the small blood vessels in the skin, so the temperature pattern along the back tells us where the automatic control system is working hard. This scan shows us where, not just whether.

neuroPULSE reads the rhythm of the heartbeat. Every child has a gas pedal and a brake. The gas pedal is the stress side, the go, go, go. The brake is the calm side, the rest and recover. A healthy nervous system moves between them all day. This scan shows whether your child can ease off the gas and let the brake take over, or whether they are sitting revved up with very little in reserve. Parents usually recognize their kid the moment they see it.

Those three become one number, a CORESCORE between 0 and 100. The number matters less than what it does: it takes something invisible and puts it on a screen where you can point at it.

Why we scan a second time

This is the part I care about most, and it is the part most offices skip.

A scan on day one is a snapshot. It tells us where to start, how often to adjust, and for how long. It does not tell us whether the care worked. Only the second scan does that.

So we re-scan. We show you both. If the numbers moved, you can see it. If they did not, we would rather know, and change what we are doing, than keep going on a feeling. You deserve objective information about your child, not just a friendly opinion from the person you are paying.

That is what “we test, adjust, and retest” actually means. It is not a slogan. It is a commitment to be checkable.

What an adjustment is doing here

Titan is adjustment-only. No machines, no traction, no soft tissue work. A neurologically focused adjustment is a small, specific, gentle input to the spine, and in an infant it is roughly the pressure you would use to check a ripe tomato.

The point is not to move a bone. The point is to change the quality of the information the spine is sending the brain. Think of Highway 101 at rush hour. The brain and spinal cord are the freeway, the nerves are the on-ramps and off-ramps, and a stuck, irritated segment is a wreck in the right lane backing traffic up for miles.
