What Happens at a Progress Re-Exam at Titan Chiropractic in Petaluma

We don’t guess. We test, adjust, and retest.

You will hear us say that a lot around here. The first two parts are easy to picture. The third one, the retest, is the part families ask about most. So let’s walk through it.

A progress re-exam is the visit where we scan you again and put the new results next to the ones from your very first day. It is a check-in built on real data, not on a feeling or an opinion. Families from Petaluma, Penngrove, and Cotati sit down with us for one of these every few weeks. It is one of our favorite visits of the whole care plan.

Here is what happens, start to finish.

First, a quick reminder of what we measured on day one

Before anything can be compared, you need to know what we looked at the first time.

On your first visit we run three INSIGHT scans. They are quiet. They do not hurt. Nothing is pushed into the body. Plenty of babies sleep straight through them.

The first is neuroCORE. It measures the electrical activity running along your spine. Think of it as reading how much energy your nerves are spending just to hold you upright through an ordinary day.

The second is neuroTHERMAL. It reads the heat pattern down your spine. That pattern is run by your automatic nerves, the quiet ones that control your organs and glands without you ever thinking about it.

The third is neuroPULSE. It looks at the rhythm of your heartbeat. This is the one that shows us your gas pedal and your brake, and whether your body can shift between the two the way it is designed to.

Those three results become one number called a CORESCORE, on a scale of zero to one hundred. That number is your starting line.

When a re-exam happens

A care plan is built in stretches, not one long blur. Partway through, we stop and re-scan. Then we do it again at the end of the plan.

We put it on the calendar ahead of time, so it is never a surprise. If you are not sure when yours is coming up, just ask us at the front desk and we will tell you the date.

What a re-exam looks like at our Petaluma office

Plan on a little more time than a normal adjustment visit. We build the extra minutes into the schedule so nobody feels rushed.

We run the same three scans, in the same room, the same way we ran them on day one. Same test, same conditions, same equipment. That part matters more than it sounds. If we changed how we measured, the comparison would not mean anything.

Then we sit down together and put your first scans and your new scans side by side on the screen.

Reading your own numbers, in plain English

You do not need a science background for this part. The scans come back as colored bars and simple graphs, and we walk through them with you in everyday words. If a term needs explaining, we explain it. If you want us to slow down and go through it twice, we will.

We are not hunting for perfect. We are looking for direction. Is the pattern calmer than it was? Is the body spending less energy just holding itself together? Can the nervous system drop out of go mode when the day is over?

Kids tend to love this part. A lot of them want to see their own bars and find out if the colors changed.

What it means when the numbers move

Sometimes the change is easy to spot. The pattern evens out. The colors settle. The CORESCORE climbs.

When that happens, we say the same thing every time. The adjustment did not do that on its own. Your body did that.

Your body is designed to work at one hundred percent. Symptoms are signals. When the nervous system is carrying too much, function slips. A gentle, specific adjustment clears the stress pattern that was in the way, and the body takes it from there. That is the whole idea behind the way we adjust, and it is why we keep the work simple and specific.

What it means when the numbers stay the same

This is the honest part, and it is the reason the re-exam exists.

Sometimes the numbers barely move. Sometimes one scan looks better and another one sits right where it was. When that happens, we tell you plainly. We would rather show you a flat graph and talk it through than talk around it.

A flat result is information. It usually starts a good conversation. Has sleep come apart lately? Did something heavy land on the family this month? Have visits been getting missed? Is there a piece of the picture we have not accounted for yet? The answer shapes what we do next, and sometimes it means we change the plan.

That conversation is only possible because we measured in the first place. Without a retest, everybody is guessing.

What changes after the re-exam

A re-exam is not a report card you take home and file away. It is how the next stretch of care gets built.

Visit frequency may come down as things steady out. The zones we focus on may shift, because the quick head check we do at the start of every visit tells us where the body is asking for help that day. Sometimes we hold the plan exactly where it is, because the pattern is moving in the right direction and we do not want to interrupt it.

Either way, you leave knowing what the plan is and why it looks the way it does.

Is this you?

Maybe you have been to a chiropractor before and never once saw a measurement. Maybe you were told things were improving, but nobody ever showed you. If you want care where the progress is something you can actually look at, we would love to meet you. You can book a first visit here, or call the office at 707-242-6624 and we will walk you through it on the phone.

Re-exams do not stop when your plan ends

When an initial care plan wraps up, most of our families move into a monthly wellness rhythm. The re-exams keep going there too. Wellness membership includes up to two progress exams per person each year, so you keep seeing the data instead of just hoping.

Think of the rings inside a redwood out on the Sonoma County coast. Each one is a record of a season. Year after year, your scans build the same kind of record for your family. That is what long-term care looks like when it is measured.

Petaluma, Penngrove, Cotati, Rohnert Park, and the greater North Bay: if you have questions about what a re-exam would show for you or your kids, reach out anytime. We are happy to talk it through before you ever book.
